The following frames are extracted from a photographic sequence which I called "London Calling" (like the rock song of The Clash).
What is common to Rome, Paris and London? These are three big western millenarian cities, founded by the ancient Romans around at the ford on a river.
Historically, nothing mysterious, most of the great world cities were born in a place of commercial exchange, passage or encounter: a ford, a port on the sea, a river port, a military camp, a fortress, a place of religious worship, etc.
